YOU CAN LOSE THAT WEIGHT

One hardly watches the TV for more than 30 minutes to hear someone talking about issues relating to weight and the dangers of overweight. It can be quite saddening and uncomfortable watching as your weight is talked down and you are made to look helpless. It is almost enough to make you take extreme actions like not eating again (if that is possible) for days so you can slim down. Effective weight loss is not quite easy but it is possible and has been achieved by many so you can do it too.

The truth remains that many people do weigh more than they ought to. Weighing too much is quite inimical to health and is fingered as responsible for certain health risks. The human bodies certainly need food to stay healthy and perform optimally. Giving it extra food has the potential of making us add one pound here and there.

Our society is confronted by the numerous cases of Obesity around us. It is estimated as at 2008 by WHO that over 1.4 billion people are obese globally. Today about two thirds of Americans are overweight, meaning they weigh more than they should and are at risk for health problems, including obesity. Only about one third of Americans have a healthy body weight. Half of all overweight people - and one third of all Americans - suffer from obesity, which predisposes them to serious health problems. WHO also revealed that globally, overweight and obesity are linked to the death of more people than underweight. This is a frightening statistics that demands that you take discreet actions to strictly watch your weight. So you can guard against self-inflicted sicknesses and diseases associated with overweight.

Obesity is a medical problem that should not be taken lightly. Losing even a little weight if you are obese can have a big impact on your health and very possible. To control our weight, we should learn why our bodies act and react the way they do. It is important we understand what the human body needs to work and what it does with the extra food we eat. We can find out how to keep from gaining too much weight in the first place.

We can learn how to healthily change our diet and eating habit, how much exercise is needful to lose weight. It should interest you to note that with good monitoring of our weight, we can become healthier, no matter what we weigh.

Do well to consult with your doctor on your personal weight and health. Obesity doesn’t make any happy.
But the good news is that obesity is treatable and that, if you suffer from it, and consciously work on it over time you can get down to a healthy weight. So don’t fret that you are overweight but get to work at dropping the excess load of weight. You are in control of living a healthy life and of becoming and being the healthiest person you can be.

WHAT CAUSED MY OBESITY?

What causes obesity? If being overweight is such a bad thing, why are so many Americans so heavy? A long time ago, when food was hard to find, people had to work hard to eat. Some people were hunter-gatherers, and they had to chase animals around to catch them for food. Other people had to move from place to place as they gathered up all the resources in each spot or as the animals they were hunting moved on. Other people were farmers and they had to work hard in the fields to make things grow. Either way, people used up a lot of energy to bring food to the table. Food was used as a fuel (the way you put gas in a car to make it go). Any food that wasn’t burned up right away in your daily activities was stored by your body for times when it would be harder to find food, like winter or times of drought. Over time, though, the way we get food has gotten easier. Most of us don’t need to hunt wild animals or gather berries in the woods for our dinner. And very few of us live on farms w...
